United Nations Children's Fund
AGENDA:
“Ending the Recruitment and Use of Child Soldiers: Strengthening Prevention, Rehabilitation, and Reintegration Strategies”
The UNICEF Committee will focus on the urgent issue of child soldiers, aiming to address the exploitation of children in armed conflicts and develop effective solutions to prevent their recruitment and use in warfare. Delegates will explore a range of strategies to strengthen global efforts in safeguarding children from such abuse, including enhanced preventive measures, better enforcement of international laws, and support for affected communities. The agenda will also prioritize improving rehabilitation programs, ensuring that children who have been forced to participate in armed conflicts receive the necessary care, education, and emotional support to heal from the trauma they have experienced.
In addition to rehabilitation, the committee will work towards creating comprehensive strategies that promote the reintegration of former child soldiers into society, helping them rebuild their lives and become productive members of their communities. By focusing on child protection, advancing their rights, and fostering long-term healing, the committee aims to ensure that children no longer bear the horrors of war. Through collaborative efforts, the session strives to create a peaceful and secure future where every child can grow up free from violence and exploitation.
