International Consortium of Investigative Journalists

AGENDA:

"Press reporting and journalism”

The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) will delve into the critical role of press reporting and journalism in shaping global narratives, focusing on its influence in an increasingly interconnected world. Delegates will explore the vital importance of press freedom, ethical reporting practices, and the growing concerns surrounding misinformation and its impact on public perception. The discussions will address the challenges journalists face, particularly in conflict zones, where reporting can put lives at risk and often comes under intense political or ideological pressure.

The agenda seeks to empower journalism as a powerful tool for transparency, accountability, and justice. By highlighting the essential role of investigative journalism in exposing corruption, human rights abuses, and other societal injustices, the committee will work to strengthen global efforts to protect journalists and ensure their ability to report without fear or restriction. Through these discussions, the ICIJ aims to support a media landscape that prioritizes truth and fosters a more informed, just, and accountable global society.
